Unit 8 Posting

Dear Classmates and Friends,
It would be nice to have time to use this blog on a daily basis as a journal or for contacting, but it is hard enough to just do the assignments. For this weeks question, I would like to choose Loving Kindness and Subtle Mind. I believe that the loving kindness exercise will help me to think of others and give me a focal point when relaxing and meditating. The Subtle mind exercise will help me to reach an inner part of my mind to begin healing. Learning to control the mind will be a great start to healthy mental fitness.

Unit 7 Blog Exercise

Hello Everyone,
1. I must point out that coffee is good only until a certain point. I drink too much. This makes it very hard for one to meditate. I do like this exercise the best. It gave me a great point and lesson at the same time to focus on. I am still having a hard time with the guided instruction after so many minutes. Mindful meditation has created peace in my psychological wellness. I would like to continue one of these exercises on a daily basis.
2. As for the statement "One can not lead another where one has not gone themself", I believe that experience counts for a lot. You can teach someone about drug addicton, but if they have not had that kind of hold or experienced what use or overuse of medication or drugs it is hard for them to know the same feeling. To the health and wellness professional, teaching someone to eat right when you have never experienced it except from a book is hard to do. As a health and wellness professional I will have to be able to develop the health aspects in my life to the fullest extent to be able to serve others. I must understand how long of a journey that this wellness is in order to bring someone else to the same point. I must implement psychological and spiritual health in my life by taking the time to relax and meditate daily. Detoxing the mind is the key.

unit 6 Blog Exercise

Dear Professor and Classmates,
I am glad that we were able to review this exercise in our seminar. To me it could be catagorized as a great prayer, a great creed, and a great lesson. It really does make you feel good. I discovered that sometimes I am selfish only praying for the ones that I know. As far as the assessment process, Ichose the Biological aspect as the area that I need to grow and develop in. In this area is where I could relieve a lot of stress from my life, and have the most room for improvement. It is the answer for long term and short term needs. As far as activities, I need to move and exercise on a daily basis, continue to improve on watching what I eat, and I need to continue to learn how to heal from the inside out.

Unit 5 Blog Post

Dear Professor and Classmates,
1. In comparison to the Loving Kindness exercise, the subtle mind exercise is a much more successful exercise. In this exercise there is actually an action to concentrate on. When giving yourself a thought to ponder on (or subject) as in the first exercise the mind can still wander easily. I am much happier and have been more successful with the second exercise.
2. The connection between spiritual wellness, mental wellness, and physical wellness is necessary. You can't be whole without one of these. Each work hand in hand to create optimal health. Each one is a benefit to the other in ways of healing and cleansing. Each of these give us strength, wisdom, and the ability to heal ourselves and others.
