Unit 4-Loving Kindness
1. My experience with the CD exercise was pretty much the same of the others. I just don't think that they work for me. I am better reading the word and praying for people that breathing them in and out. When I reflect, I like to have a clear mind and that makes it easier for me to clear away thoughts. I definitly recommend that everyone try it to see what works best for them.
2. The concept of a mental workout is a daily way to experience psychological flourishing. The key to success is to stick with the workout. This is the key to strenghthening consciousness and creating a caring heart. Peace and tranquility along with wisdom are proven results from this exercise. Long and short term mind altering transition expansion creates good health and wellbeing. This includes being able to change negative emotions to positive ones, and by enhancing mental functions (Dacher, 2006). I would implement these exercises to clear my mind for better communication and concentration skills.

This exercise was the only one thus far that actually helped me. I was able to relate it to my personal life that is why it was beneficial for me. They do take time and like the professor always says it is about "progress not prefection." I'm sure you will find at least one helpful. Its good that you have your own techniques because it is best to practice what works best for you.
ReplyDeleteHi Gina,
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to listen to these exercises today. My husband just got my laptop running again for me after it took a nose dive yesterday. I have had a lot of problems with the guys voice that we listen to through the class links. I am going to give the CD a try though and see what I get. I agree with you that in order for anything to be beneficial and show progress, we must practice it daily. Working out everyonce in a while does not allow us to build stamina and strength and often make you more sore and less likely to want to work out the next time you do unless you stick through the first few days of soreness and pain. I believe our brain is the same way. Probably just have a few cobwebs and lazy muscles up there that don't want to work and need a kick in the pants to get going:)
I think I live so stressed out right now that the exercises do help me calm down. However, I would not have time for them every day. I need to work out something that I can do daily that will fit into my schedule. Since I have opened a new business I have had zero extra time.
ReplyDeleteI agree that everyone has to find what works for them in terms of finding a balance between the mind and body. WE should always remember to be open to new ideas and techniques, we never know what we will love to do tomorrow.
